JAKARTA, Indonesia -- The governments of Indonesia and Lao held a seminar to mark the 60th anniversary of their bilateral relation, Indonesia's Antara news agency reported.
Quoting the website of Indonesia's Foreign Affairs Ministry, the report said the Director General of Asia-Pacific and African Affairs of the ministry, Desra Percaya interacted with Laotian youths who attended the seminar in Vientiane, stressing the need for efforts to raise awareness and interaction between the peoples of both countries.
The Laos Foreign Ministry delivered a review on 60 years of bilateral relations between the two countries.
Laos also expressed support for the nomination of Indonesia as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the period of 2019-2020, the report added.
Diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Laos have been established since Aug 30, 1957.
