JAKARTA, Indonesia -- Indonesian President Joko Widodo today carried out a minor cabinet reshuffle by appointing former Golkar Party Secretary-General Idrus Marham as the new Social Affairs Minister.
Idrus replaces Khofifah Indar Parawansa, who will contest for the post East Java Governor in the Indonesian Regional Heads Election (Pilkada) in June 2018.
Meanwhile, former Commander-in-Chief of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, Moeldoko was appointed as Presidential Chief of Staff, replacing former anti-corruption activist, Teten Masduki.
According to ANTARA news agency, at the swearing-in ceremony at Istana Merdeka today, former chairman of the Indonesian Football Association, Agum Gumelar was appointed as a member of the Presidential Advisory Council.
