State civil apparatuses as unifying tool of nation: Vice President

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The spirit of nationalism is an important thing that all state civil apparatuses must have because they are one of the unifying tool of the nation, Vice President Jusuf Kalla remarked on Thursday.

When receiving National Management Board of the Indonesian Civil Servants Corps (KORPRI) General Chairman Zudan Arif Fakrulloh at the Vice Presidential Office, Kalla said the state civil apparatuses must be able to be placed in all regions across the country as the unifying tool of the nation.

If the state civil apparatuses in an are are made up only by the employees of that area, it will become fragmented and the impact is not good for the long term.

"The state civil apparatuses must have a national view," the vice president said, adding that this needs to be a concern because there are many concerns in the region if regional leadership changes.

The Vice President also reminded the need for certification for the Heads of Service, so that they could become a fortress for their careers going forward.

Not only for Echelon 1 and 2 officials, the Vice President also stressed the importance for all state civil apparatuses to be placed anywhere in Indonesia.

On the other hand, the state civil apparatuses certification must be carried out since they were still candidates for civil servants.

"If from the IPDN (Institute of Domestic Administration), then there must be certification on technical capabilities. Conversely, if it comes from the public there must be certification for the science of government," explained the Vice President.

This was emphasized by the Vice President in response to Zudan Arifs report regarding the non-realization of the national state civil apparatuses and certification for the state civil apparatuses that had been in charge of certain services for some time.

On the occasion, Zudan Arif reported on the developments that took place over the past year in the body of KORPRI, including the planned commemoration of the anniversary of KORPRI on November 29, 2018.
