Vice President on working visit to Balikpapan

Balikpapan, E Kalimantan(ANTARA News)- Vice President M Jusuf Kalla paid a working visit to Balikpapan, East Kalimantan Province on Thursday.

Kalla was scheduled to officially open a national gathering of Islamic preachers held in the Hidayatullah Islamic Boarding School, on Nov 22-25.

The vice president and his entourage departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, East Jakarta, at 6:30 a.m. local time aboard Boeing 737-400 of the Indonesian Air Force.

They arrived at Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Airport, Balikpapan, at 9:30 a.m. local time, and were greeted by East Kalimantan Governor Isran Noor.

The gathering organized coinciding with the 45th anniversary of the Hidayatullah boarding school, is participated in by more than 10,000 preachers.

Members of the vice presidential entourage included Communication and Informatics Minister Rudiantara and Agrarian Minister Sofyan Djalil.
