Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan accompanied by his two sons, Mikail Azizi and Ismail Hakim visits the Dharma Bakti Monastery in Petak Sembilan area, Jalan Kemenangan III, Glodok Urban Village, Taman Sari, West Jakarta.
In that occasion, they do the tradition of releasing sparrows from cages to the wild.
"In behalf of Jakarta Provincial Government and Jakartans, we want to say happy Chinese New Year (imlek), Gong Xi Fa Cai. Hopefully this year brings blessings and success," he expressed, Tuesday (2/5).
For five consecutive years, he had visited the monastery during Chinese New Year celebrations.
"I hope the monastery renovation can be finished soon. We'll support it," he exclaimed.
He added that the monastery is part of the cultural heritage building in Jakarta, which can be an attraction for local and foreign tourists.
"We want this renovation to give comfort for those who visit here," he hoped.
