The Betawi art training will be held in the Pulo Gundul child-friendly integrated public space (RPTRA), Tanah Tinggi Urban Village, Johar Baru, Central Jakarta.
Pulo Gundul RPTRA Caretaker, Nando stated that his side still continues to conduct socialization and open registration for locals. Thus far there have been 20 people registered for gambang kromong training, 15 people for traditional dance training, and 15 people for qasidah (a traditional music number featuring Islamic songs).
"Training will begin in the next few days, or in early March," he expressed, Thursday (2/28).
To support it, various training facility and infrastructure needs ranging from musical instruments to instructors have been prepared.
"We have also made a training schedule. We want to contribute to maintaining the preservation of cultural arts, especially Betawi," he told.
A local citizen, Titin Suprihatin (33), positively welcomes it and she is eager to participate in gambang kromong and dance training.
"Hopefully it can facilitate and motivate young people in Tanah Tinggi Urban Village to be more active in preserving their village culture," she hoped.
