Fifth Indonesian Diaspora Congress to be held for three days

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The fifth Congress of the Indonesian Diaspora, or CID-5, will be held in Jakarta, for three days from August 10 to 13, 2019.

"The theme of this year's conference is "Empowering Indonesia's Human Capital", Indonesian Diaspora Network � Global (IDN-Global) President, Mark Gerald Eman, said during a press conference in Jakarta on Monday.

The Indonesian Diaspora Network - Global chose this theme because human resource development is the key to Indonesia's future.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of IDN Global, Said Zaidansyah, stated that the theme was also in line with President Joko Widodo's instructions regarding Human Resources and Diaspora development.

"One of the main agendas of the Diaspora Congress is the development of human resources in accordance with the instructions of President Joko Widodo during his remarks in Sentul and he also highlighted the issue of human resource development," Said said.

The congress could provide a platform to discuss issues and challenges related to human resources in Indonesia and the challenges facing human resource development.

He said that the congress will open with a one-day conference on Saturday, August 10, 2019, at the Kasablanka Hall, Kasablanka Mall, Jakarta.

The conference will be attended by the head of CID-5's organizing committee, Iwan Sunito; Minister of Industry, Airlangga Hartarto; West Java provincial governor, Ridwan Kamil; MRT Construction Director who is also an Indonesian Diaspora in Singapore, Silvia Halim; and others.

The conference is expected to be the biggest meeting of the Indonesian diaspora in Indonesia and as many as 5,000 Indonesian diaspora are expected to attend the event.
