NEC Asia Pacific (NEC APAC) today announced the successful commencement of a managed end-user computing service for Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific.
This three-year managed service contract provides a centralized 24/7 multi-lingual IT service desk to support and troubleshoot for desktop workstations for over 12,000 users across 10 markets/offices in the Asia Pacific region (*1). On-site engineers are deployed in Fuji Xerox's regional offices to ensure quick resolutions to any issues. NEC also manages end-to-end asset lifecycles, from procurement and installation to replacement of devices, as part of this agreement.
NEC's offering leverages innovative IT tools, such as an AI-based chatbot for routine inquiries, a self-help user portal and an automated engineer assignment system, to reduce downtime and shorten overall recovery times.
We are delighted with NEC innovative helpdesk solutions, said Ms. Henrietta Yaw, General Manager, Information Management, Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific. The AI-driven chatbot is one such innovation bringing helpdesk support to a new level. NEC applied cutting edge technologies with people-centric support, focused on empowering self-help and quicker resolutions, and drove improved satisfaction to more than 12,000 of our users in the region. I give my sincere thanks to the team at NEC for bringing to the table great solutions as well as a very well executed transition.
This deal with Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific is NEC APAC's largest region-wide managed end-user computing service, and I'm delighted that we were able to meet and exceed their expectations, said Mr. Job Chan, Vice President, Managed Service Business Unit, NEC APAC. Our numerous discussions with Fuji Xerox's IT team gave us deep insights into the challenges and bottlenecks they were facing. We are pleased to have improved Fuji Xerox's operations and minimized their operating risks.
Since the service went live in January 2019, the project has delivered better service quality and reduced Fuji Xerox's operating costs. Through NEC, Fuji Xerox is expected to save over SGD $800,000 annually in its end-user computing management.
(*1) The managed service covers Fuji Xerox's offices in Australia, China (including Hong Kong and Taiwan), Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
