Lombok International Airport in West Nusa Tenggara Province witnessed the highest rise of 62.48 percent in October 2019
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Over 1.35 million foreign tourists had paid a visit to Indonesia in October 2019, a 3.28-percent drop than a month earlier.
However, in comparison with the corresponding month last year, the number of foreign tourists in October 2019 had increased 4.86 percent, Chief of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Suhariyanto stated on Monday.
Cumulatively, the number of tourist arrivals during the period from January to October 2019 had reached 13.62 million, a 2.85-percent rise from a year earlier.
He affirmed that 856,350 of the 1.35 million tourists had travelled to Indonesia by air, 336,040 by sea, and 162,010 by land.
The number of airborne tourists in October 2019 constituted a 0.13-percent rise as compared to that recorded in October 2018, with the Lombok International Airport in West Nusa Tenggara Province witnessing the highest rise of 62.48 percent in October 2019.
This was followed by Kualanamu Airport in North Sumatra Province, with an increase of 37.42 percent, and Minangkabau Airport in West Sumatra Province, at 30.11 percent. However, the number of tourist arrivals via the Soekarno Hatta Airport in Banten Province fell 22.70 percent.
