Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi highlighted the role of Indonesian women at a meeting held on the sidelines of the 43rd Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland, on Monday.
At the event Good Human Rights Stories Initiatives initiated by European Union, Marsudi spoke of the Indonesian women's role in contributing to the dissemination of peace, tolerance and multiracism values.
Additionally, Indonesia will also create a forum of Southeast Asia Network of Women Peace Negotiators and Mediators aspart of efforts to strengthen women's contribution to encouraging eternal peace in the region.
Indonesia will also launch the creation of Afghanistan-Indonesia Women's Network to encourage Afghan women's contribution to the peace process in Afghanistan, she added.
"Early March, I, along with Indonesian female figures will visit Kabul to inaugurate the creation of Afghanistan-Indonesia Women's Network ," she said.
At the event, several countries including South Korea, Gambia and Argentina screened films on their women's success stories in empowering their community.
Indonesia also screened a film about the Indonesian women's role from the independence period to the present development era.
This is the third time for Indonesia to take part in the forum of Good Human Rights Stories Initiatives.
