Jakarta Jakarta recorded 2,939 patients recovering from the novel coronavirus disease on Tuesday, taking the total tally to 277,010.
The total recoveries accounted for 89.2 percent of the total COVID-19 cases, which were pegged at 254,580 on Tuesday, according to data provided by the Jakarta provincial government on its official website corona.jakarta.go.id.
The total recoveries rose compared to 88.8 percent the day before.
Jakarta reported 2,314 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, taking the total tally since the pandemic struck in March, 2020 to 254,580.
The count of new COVID-19 cases was derived from the result of swab tests conducted on 1,639 specimens the day before along with 625 specimens examined in the laboratory of a state-owned hospital in the past four days.
A total of 18,246 specimens were examined during PCR swab testing on January 25, 2021. Of the total, 16,312 were tested to diagnose new cases, with 1,689 testing positive and 14,623 testing negative for COVID-19.
The single-day count of COVID-19 infections on Tuesday was the lowest in a week. The number of infections recorded on Monday (January 25, 2021) were pegged at 2,451; Sunday (January 24) at 3,512; Saturday (January 23) at 3,285; Thursday (January 21) at 3,151; Wednesday (January 20) at 3,786; and, Tuesday (January 19) at 2,563.
