Semarang Airport temporarily closed due to flooding

Semarang, C Java – Ahmad Yani International Airport in Semarang, Central Java, was temporarily closed as floodwater inundated part of its runway on Saturday.   The temporary closure of the airport was based on notice to airmen number B0177/21, the airport’s stakeholder relations manager, Heri Trisno Wibowo said.   “The temporary closure followed a routine check in the morning which found floodwater inundating the runway following torrential heavy rains overnight,” he said.   He said airport workers were trying to pump the floodwater out of the runway using 54 pumps.…
