The Jakarta Metropolitan police chief pledged to take stern measures against the police officer, identified by his initials as chief brigadier CS, and to bring him to justice and to the National Police’s ethics council.

“We will take swift steps to get the suspect processed under the penal code. We will also process the case under the police’s code of ethics until he is declared unfit to become a National Police member,” Imran stated.

He later offered condolences and apologized to the relatives of those killed in the shooting case and the Jakarta Regional Military Command.

“As the chief of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, who is the superior of the suspect, I sincerely apologize to the public, the relatives of the victims and the Indonesian Army,” he remarked.
