4,358 COVID-19 patients being treated at Jakarta’s Wisma Atlet

As many as 4,358 COVID-19 patients are undergoing treatment at Wisma Atlet COVID-19 Emergency Hospital in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, an official informed.

“All the confirmed positive patients are being treated at Towers 4, 5, 6 and 7,” head of information for Joint Regional Defense Command I, Marine Colonel Aris Mudian, said in a written statement released on Sunday.

The patients comprised 2,005 and 2,353 women, he said.

The number of inpatients declined 124 compared to 4,482 earlier. Overall, 140,276 people were admitted to the COVID-19 emergency hospital between March 2020 and February 13, 2022.

Mudian further spoke of the condition of patients being treated at Towers 8, 9 and 10 of the Wisma Atlet COVID -19 Emergency Hospital in Pandemangan, Jakarta

A total of 1,418 patients comprising 620 men and 798 women were being treated at the Wisma Atlet COVID -19 Emergency Hospital in Pandemangan. The figure increased 107 compared to 1,311 earlier. Between March 23, 2020 and February 13, 2022 the hospital 660,530 patients.

The first case of COVID-19 was confirmed in Indonesia in March 2020.

The recent spike in COVID-19 cases is attributed to the emergence of the Omicron variant.

The Ministry of Health detected the first case of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 in Indonesia on December 15, 2021. With the spread of the new variant, Indonesia has recorded a significant increase in COVID-19 cases.
