5 more witnesses in the “Big Joke” case to be questioned on August 21st


The committee investigating serious disciplinary offenses against ‘Big Joke’ and his group will call in 5 more witnesses for questioning on 21 Aug. The results are expected by the end of this month.

After the progress follow-up meeting on the case of Pol. Gen. Surachet Hakpal, Deputy Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, and five others who were accused of committing serious disciplinary offenses, which lasted more than two hours, Pol. Gen. Sarawut Karnphanich, Deputy Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, said that from listening to the report, this committee must be commended. In the first case, they followed their own policies, which are to adhere to regulations and laws, and to be fair. They questioned 65 witnesses, both the accuser and the accused, which showed that this committee acted with care and was fair to both parties.

The accused has submitted additional statements and referred to 5 witnesses. Therefore, a letter has been sent to inform the 5 witnesses to come and testify to th
e investigator on August 21. After the investigation of all 5 witnesses is complete, another meeting will be held to conclude whether the results will be positive or negative. It is expected that the results will be concluded within this month because there are many documents to consider in this case, approximately 5 boxes. The committee will have to consider all issues.
