Another victim of a crazy truck driver dies after drug test results

Urine test results of a crazy truck driver found drugs, 5 serious charges filed, preparations to detain and oppose bail, while there is a second death.

Pol. Col. Panithi Cha-un, Superintendent of the Tha Ruea Metropolitan Police Station, revealed that Mr. Wanlop, 43, a truck driver who hit and ran in several areas in Bangkok and Samut Prakan, resulting in injuries and deaths, has been taken from the hospital and returned to the Tha Ruea Metropolitan Police Station. During questioning, the suspect confessed that he had committed the crime. On the day of the incident, he had taken one methamphetamine pill, crushed it and mixed it with an energy drink to sip throughout the day. He had been taking it continuously since morning until he reached the Khlong Toei area when the methamphetamine took effect, causing him to sweat a lot. He was worried that someone would come and hurt him, which was the starting point for the incident. This is consistent with the fact that the police sent him for additional drug tests i
n his urine, which came back purple. Therefore, he was charged with drug use in addition to the charges he had filed yesterday, totaling 5 charges: reckless driving causing an accident causing injury and death to others, reckless driving causing damage to others’ property, evading arrest, and resisting an officer.

From the investigation, the police found that the suspect had been taking drugs in this manner for a long time because it would make him not drowsy. Yesterday, the suspect’s daughter came to talk to her father at a hospital in Bang Phli, Samut Prakan Province, which made her symptoms better. But after that, the police took her to the police station and arranged for a team to closely monitor her symptoms and track her through CCTV because the suspect had a behavior of harming himself. Throughout the past night, there were no abnormal symptoms whatsoever.

Today, the investigator will take the suspect to the Bangkok South Criminal Court for detention and will oppose bail because he has a history of f
leeing and is a serious crime that has caused hardship to the majority of the public.

The latest is that another victim, aged 68, who was the first to be hit by Mr. Wallop, was seriously injured and was sent to Chulalongkorn Hospital for treatment. His relatives reported that he had died this morning.
