BAAC rushes to help farmers affected by floods in the North, providing relief bags and measures to restore and enhance liquidity.

Mr. Chatchai Sirilai, President of the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), revealed that from the situation of flash floods that caused damage to property and agricultural areas, which directly affected the livelihoods of farmers, both in terms of living and working, BAAC has prepared more than 10,000 relief bags, delivered BAAC drinking water, and prepared food boxes to support disaster relief units and disaster victims.

In addition, to help and alleviate the suffering, BAAC has organized measures to increase liquidity and rehabilitate customers to support customers to access low-interest funding sources to build or repair houses, agricultural greenhouses, agricultural tools, machinery, including the restoration of production damaged by natural disasters or disasters, with a total budget of 20 billion baht.

Consisting of 1) Emergency Expense Loan Project
2024/25 to enhance farmers’ liquidity in terms of general expenses such as necessary utilities and consumption, 0% interest rate for the first 6 months, MRR interest rate for the 7th month (currently MRR is 6.975 percent), not exceeding 50,000 baht per person, and 2) Quality of Life Restoration and Development Loan Project to be used as investment costs for repairing houses and property, repair costs for damaged agricultural tools and equipment, and expenses for a new round of farming, not exceeding 500,000 baht per person, MRR-2 interest rate.
