Bangkok: “Bu Phuripol,” the promising Thai national sprinter, is setting his sights on achieving three gold medals at the upcoming 33rd SEA Games. The Athletics Association of Thailand is gearing up to commemorate its 127th anniversary with a special fundraising run.
According to Thai News Agency, the Athletics Association of Thailand is organizing the Thai Athletic Run 2025 as part of its anniversary celebrations. Pol. Maj. Gen. Naphanwut Liamsongwan, vice president of the association, announced that the event will feature a unique running route that passes significant landmarks, including Wat Phra Kaew, the Giant Swing, and Yaowarat. Participants will receive a certificate confirming the event’s adherence to the association’s standards. The competition will include four distances: a 21.1-kilometer half marathon, a 10-kilometer mini-marathon, a 5-kilometer health walk/run, and an 800-meter family walk/run relay. Top finishers in each age group and distance category will be awarded association trophies. This event is scheduled to take place on October 23 at Supachalasai Stadium.
Phuripol Boonson, who attended the event, expressed his enthusiasm about the World Athletics Championships in Japan, citing it as both an exciting and challenging experience. He conveyed satisfaction with his performance, noting that he upheld his previous standards. His advancement to the semifinals has provided him with invaluable experience. Phuripol is determined to secure gold medals in the men’s 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay at the SEA Games, which will be hosted in Thailand.
