Don Mueang Airport Anticipates Over 100,000 Daily Passengers During Songkran Festival


Bangkok: Don Mueang Airport is preparing to handle an influx of over 100,000 travelers daily during the Songkran Festival in 2025. Keerati Kitimanawat, President of Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT), recently visited the airport to inspect its readiness for the holiday period. He expressed confidence that AOT’s services will be efficient and secure, advising passengers to utilize biometric face scanning and transportation systems connecting major cities and tourist destinations nationwide. Mr. Keerati, accompanied by airport executives, conducted a thorough inspection to ensure the airport’s preparedness for the festival, aiming to bolster passenger confidence and motivate staff to operate at full capacity.



According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Keerati emphasized that the increase in passenger numbers signifies a recovery in the tourism sector after previous disruptions. The anticipated surge in travelers is expected to boost the economy and benefit entrepreneurs in tourism and related services. Don Mueang Airport has implemented several measures to accommodate the growing number of passengers, including self-service systems, biometric facial registration to expedite document checks, and enhanced public transportation management. Security measures inside and outside the terminal have been reinforced to ensure the safety and smooth travel of tourists. Staff performance in various departments was evaluated to guarantee efficient and secure service, with an emphasis on teamwork to enhance the travel experience.



Mr. Keerati concluded that AOT’s preparations for the Songkran Festival are highly satisfactory. He expressed confidence in providing passengers with a comfortable and safe travel experience.
