Election Commission Opens Registration for Kanchanaburi’s Constituency 4 MP Race

Kanchanaburi: The Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) has announced the opening of applications for the upcoming House of Representatives election in Constituency 4, Kanchanaburi Province. Applications will be accepted starting Monday, September 22nd, and will continue until Friday, September 26th. Prospective candidates can submit their applications at the Lao Khwan District Hall between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

According to Thai News Agency, interested applicants are required to submit a comprehensive set of documents, including copies of their national ID card and house registration, a medical certificate, and a certification letter from their party leader as per the Organic Act on Political Parties. Additionally, candidates need to provide evidence of personal income tax payment for the years 2022, 2023, and 2024, unless exempted, in which case a certification letter for the exemption is necessary. Applicants must also submit ten full-face photos and pay an application fee of 10,000 baht. A brief biogra
phy and any other supporting documents should also accompany the application, ensuring the applicant meets all legal qualifications.

Candidates must adhere to the qualifications and criteria set forth by law, as detailed in Section 151 of the Organic Act on the Election of MPs. Any violations can result in severe penalties, including imprisonment of 1-10 years, fines ranging from 20,000 to 200,000 baht, and potential revocation of voting rights for up to 20 years.

The election for Constituency 4 is scheduled for Sunday, October 19th, covering Lao Khwan District, Huai Krachao District, Bo Phloi District (excluding Nong Kum Subdistrict), and Nong Prue District.
