The floods on the Hong (Red) River continued to rise, exceeding the second warning level on early September 11. In Hanoi, the water level reached 10.7m, 0.2m higher than the second warning level at 7h a.m, threatening the capital city’s embankment system. In the neighbouring province of Hung Yen, the Red River’s water level at 6am of the day was measured at 6.92m,0.62m higher than the second warning level. Local people were asked to remove to safe places as the floods continues to rise. Meanwhile, the river’s water level in the other neighbouring province of Phu Tho exceeded the third warning level. Over 4,000 local households have been evacuated.
