GH Bank joins hands with Social Security Office to provide low-interest loans to insured persons.

GH Bank joins hands with the Social Security Office to provide loans with an interest rate of only 1.59% per year for the first 5 years to help insured persons own their own homes.

The Government Housing Bank (GHB) and the Social Security Office have signed an MOU to establish a housing loan project for insured persons in 2024 with a budget of 10 billion baht, providing low-interest loans for the first 5 years at only 1.59% per year to insured persons under Sections 33, 39 or 40 who wish to purchase a house with a fixed installment for 5 years. In the case of a loan of 1 million baht, the installment payment is only 3,400 baht.

Mr. Kamolpop Virapala, Managing Director of the Government Housing Bank (GHB), revealed that from the cooperation between GHB and the Social Security Office in 2022, it was found that a large number of insured persons under Section 33 requested a code to participate in the low-interest housing loan project and completed the legal transaction within the 30,000 million baht credit lin
e in a short period of time, allowing more than 25,300 insured persons to access low-interest loans and have a reduced monthly payment burden, so that they can spend more on other daily expenses.

GHB, in collaboration with the Social Security Office, led by Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyudh, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the “Housing Loan Project for Insured Persons 2024”, honored by Mr. Pichai Chunhavijorn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, and Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labor, presiding over the signing ceremony of the MOU between GHB and the Social Security Office, with a budget of 10 billion baht, providing low-interest loans for the first 5 years at only 1.59% per year, years 6-8 at MRR – 2.00% per year, and year 9 until the end of the contract at MRR – 0.50% per year (currently GHB’s MRR interest rate is 6.545% per year), allowing insured persons under Section 33, 39 or 40 to have more homes of their own, by being able
to apply for loans to buy or build homes, with a loan amount not exceeding 2 million baht.

“In the case of a 1 million baht loan, the installment payment is only 3,400 baht. For the loan amount exceeding 2 million baht, you can use the bank’s other product interest rates. In order to support the demand for houses, we have expanded assistance to insured persons under Sections 39 and 40 to help ease the burden of those who want to buy or build a house so that they can access loans at low interest rates, with a limit not exceeding 2 million baht. For the loan amount exceeding 2 million baht and above, you can use the bank’s other loan products. It is expected that this cooperation will allow no less than 5,000 insured persons to own their own homes,” said Mr. Kamolpop.

For insured persons under Section 33, 39 or 40 who are interested in joining the housing loan project for insured persons 2024, they must register with the Social Security Office via the SSO PLUS application to request a certificate of insured s
tatus and enter the queue to receive the right to join the project from November 1, 2024, along with bringing personal documents, income documents and collateral documents to apply for a loan at any GH Bank branch nationwide from November 8, 2024 to December 30, 2025 or before the specified period if the GH Bank has provided a loan up to the project limit.
