Minister Mahfud invites people to build inclusive nation

We should respect our own faith as well as the beliefs of others, thus we (can) advance together in diversity.

Jakarta Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD, has invited all Indonesian people, especially Muslims, to build a nation based on inclusiveness, as applied in the implementation of the Constitution of Medina.

“We should respect our own faith as well as the beliefs of others, thus we (can) advance together in diversity,” he said, according to a statement received here on Saturday.

He made the statement at the inauguration of the Provincial Leadership Board (DPW) and Regional Leadership Board (DPD) of Alumni Associations (IKA) of the Indonesian Islamic University (UII), Palembang city, South Sumatra province, on Saturday.

He said he expects all people to understand the spirit of Indonesia well to support its becoming an inclusive country, thus the majority group must not conduct any unjustifiable acts against the minority group.
