Nakhon Phanom is monitoring the storm “Yagi”, although it does not seem to be a cause for concern, while the Mekong River level has begun to drop and is now out of crisis.
Reporters reported on the progress of the Mekong River situation in Nakhon Phanom Province, which found that the water level has been continuously decreasing. The latest level is at 9.20 meters, approximately 3 meters from the critical point, allowing it to receive a large amount of water. Meanwhile, the main tributaries, the Un River and Songkhram River, have begun to drain into the Mekong River more quickly.
However, we still need to be vigilant in the border districts along the Mekong River. If there is continuous heavy rain, there may be a risk of not being able to drain water into the Mekong River in time. Relevant agencies in the risk areas are monitoring 24 hours a day and installing additional water pumps. Meanwhile, the impact of Typhoon Yagi this morning has not yet been affected. It is expected to move towards the North, but
we still need to be vigilant and prepared to cope.
