Ninh Thuan Proposes World Bank Funding for Environmental Hygiene Initiative.


Phan rang-thap cham: The south-central province of Ninh Thuan is proposing the World Bank (WB) finance a project on environmental hygiene improvement and climate change adaptation in local urban areas.

According to Vietnam News Agency, Ninh Thuan’s proposal outlines a project divided into four components: hygiene infrastructure, urban connection, resettlement and site clearance, along with technical support and institutional reform. The funding for this initiative is estimated at more than 3 trillion VND (118.5 million USD), which includes approximately 2.15 trillion VND from official development assistance (ODA) loans and over 1 trillion VND in reciprocal capital.

The provincial People’s Committee recently held a working session on this proposal with a WB delegation in Phan Rang-Thap Cham city. The delegation was led by Elif Ayhan, the programme leader for sustainable development at the WB Office in Vietnam. The meeting aimed to discuss the project’s details and explore potential collaboration for its su
ccessful implementation.
