Pirapan Focuses on Ministerial Duties, Not Prime Ministerial Ambitions

Bangkok: Mr. Atthawit Suwannaphakdi, Chairman of the Advisory Board to the Minister of Industry, has publicly stated that Mr. Pirapan Sarirathavibhaga is solely committed to his current ministerial responsibilities and not pursuing the position of Prime Minister.

According to Thai News Agency, Atthawit made this declaration through a Facebook post, emphasizing Pirapan’s dedication as the Minister of Energy, describing him as the best he has encountered in the role.

In recent political developments, the Palang Pracharath Party (RPP) refrained from supporting Pheu Thai in the latest vote for Prime Minister, opting not to allocate a single vote in their favor. Additionally, when aligning with original coalition parties, they chose not to nominate Chaikasem Nitisiri for the premiership. Despite any party’s potential to place a nominee on the prime ministerial list, Pirapan himself is seen as having a viable chance to ascend to the position.

However, Mr. Atthawit firmly reiterated that Pirapan had explicitly stated during a Palang Pracharath Party meeting his lack of desire to become Prime Minister, reinforcing his commitment to his current ministerial role.
