PTT Continues Support for Thailand Swimming Championship with Gold Medal Wins


Bangkok: PTT Public Company Limited continues to support the Thailand Swimming Championship, where Ton Nam Kantimul and Saowani Boon-ampai, Thai national swimmers, both won gold medals in the 50-meter breaststroke.

According to Thai News Agency, the Aquatics Association of Thailand, under the support of PTT Public Company Limited, is organizing the Thailand Age Group Swimming Championships 2025 from 5-10 April 2025 at the Assumption University Aquatics Center, Suvarnabhumi Campus. This competition has been certified by the FIA for the World Aquatics Championships 2025 to be held in Singapore.

Maj. Gen. Dr. Thanont Saengnak, Vice President of the Aquatics Association of Thailand, Sports Technical Division, and Chairman of the competition, stated that this event aims to develop Thai swimmers to excellence and to rank swimmers in each age group in Thailand. It also selects athletes to participate in international competitions. A total of 1,018 athletes are participating, including 86 from Hong Kong, Turkmenist
an, and India. He expressed gratitude to PTT for its support of the Aquatics Association since 2017 and continuing to the present.

In the men’s 50-meter breaststroke final, Ton Nam Kantimul, renowned for his SEA Games gold medal win from the Singha Swimming Club, secured the gold with a time of 26.27 seconds. The silver medal was claimed by Phurephat Srirojanan from Wellington College Bangkok Swim Team, clocking in at 27.00 seconds.

In the women’s 50-meter breaststroke final, Saowani Boon-ampai, a notable Thai national swimmer from the Singha Swimming Club, won gold with a time of 29.64 seconds. Her teammate, Mia Millar, earned the silver medal with a time of 30.27 seconds.

Both Ton Nam and Saowani expressed satisfaction with their performances but acknowledged areas for improvement. They are committed to intensifying their training to achieve their goal of winning a gold medal at the SEA Games, which Thailand will host later this year.

The 2025 Thailand Swimming Championship will run until April 10th at
the Assumption University Aquatics Center, Suvarnabhumi Campus.
