Bangkok: The Shinawatra family arrived at Klong Prem Prison to visit Thaksin after completing his five-day quarantine. The Department of Corrections has allowed relatives to visit today for the first time.
According to Thai News Agency, Winyat Chatmontri, the personal lawyer for former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, has requested permission to visit Thaksin at Klong Prem Central Prison after five days of quarantine for COVID-19. The Department of Corrections has granted permission for 10 relatives and their lawyers to visit today for the first time. Previously, Pol. Lt. Col. Chain Kanchanapat, spokesman for the Department of Corrections, revealed that Thaksin’s overall condition has improved, with his previously high blood pressure returning to normal. Visits will be conducted through a clear glass window for safety reasons.
The Shinawatra family has arrived at Klong Prem Prison, led by Khunying Potjaman Damapong, her eldest daughter, Ms. Pinthongtha Shinawatra Kunakornwong, and Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the former Prime Minister.
