A cautionary tale of a driver who failed to check the condition of his vehicle and changed the tires, causing the vehicle to overturn in the middle of the road. The tires were found to be deteriorated to the point where the wires were exposed.
A ten-wheel truck overturned this morning, September 8, on the road between kilometer markers 132-133 on Chokchai-Det Udom Road, Chaloem Phra Kiat District, Buriram Province, causing the bags of chicken manure it was carrying to spill all over the road, forcing half of the traffic lane to be closed.
Mr. Boonphop, the driver, said that he was carrying bags of chicken manure from Nong Bun Mak District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, heading to deliver to farmers in Ubon Ratchathani Province. However, when he reached the scene of the accident, the rear wheel suddenly broke off from the rear axle, causing the vehicle to lose control and flip over.
The police pointed out that the tires of the overturned ten-wheel truck were only good when inspected, the two front tires. The
rest were all worn out, to the point where the wires were protruding.
This is a cautionary tale for vehicle owners that they must check the condition of their vehicles regularly, at least once every 3 or 6 months, to prevent the deterioration of parts that could cause accidents. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in this incident.
