‘Thai Extreme Team’ Ready to Fight in ‘World Extreme’

Pattaya: The Extreme Sports Association is organizing the Thailand Extreme Fest 2025 competition as a platform to introduce new athletes to the national team camp and develop their skills to compete on the world stage. Extreme sports in Thailand are gaining popularity and attracting interest from new athletes who want to become professional athletes from the organization of many competitions organized by the Extreme Sports Association of Thailand under the management of Mr. Phurit Bhirombhakdi who sees the importance of creating a competition stage to find athletes and push Thai professional athletes to gain experience and develop their skills to compete on the world stage, such as the Thailand Extreme Fest 2025 competition in Pattaya, Chonburi Province, which selects skilled athletes to enter the Thai national team camp, preparing for international competitions, including the SEA Games later this year and the Olympic Games in the United States.

According to Thai News Agency, this year, there are eight competitions: skateboard, BMX, roller freestyle, inline freestyle, speed skating, downhill skateboard, and cable wakeboard. ‘???????’ Wareeya Sukkasem, a Thai national skateboarder who made history as the youngest athlete at the age of 12 to compete in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in France, used this competition to develop and build strength before competing in international competitions.

It is also a competition venue for the preparation of five Thai national extreme sports athletes who have qualified to participate in the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China. “PP” Peeranat Fakthongyu and Praepim Pipatsawat, two Thai national cable wakeboard athletes, are confident that their performance in this competition will build their confidence and lead to good performances at the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China this August.

Similarly, three athletes who are hopeful for the Thai extreme sports industry, Panthep Ruchirek, Nichakan Jinuphan, and Sasikarn Kongpan, Thai national inline freestyle athletes, give this competition the same importance as world-class competitions because it is a stage where everyone must prove their skills and whether they are capable enough to represent the Thai national team and compete on the world stage.

For another extreme sport that is gaining attention is downhill skateboarding. Because it is a sport that uses speed and strength to control direction, it is exciting and challenging for athletes who love speed to turn to this sport. From the confirmation of Nawaphan Anginsombat, a downhill skateboarder ranked 24th in the world at the 2024 World Skate Games in Italy, even though this year there will be no competition in the SEA Games hosted by Thailand, she confirmed that she is still determined to perform well in international competitions to inspire and hope to increase the population of downhill skateboarders in Thailand even more.

We must follow, cheer, and support the Thai national extreme sports team who are developing their skills and continuously creating good results in world-class competitions so that Thailand can become a top country internationally in the world of extreme sports.
