Chiang Mai: Former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has returned to Chiang Mai for the long Songkran holiday, where he was seen spending time with his family and preparing to welcome Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Thaksin arrived in Chiang Mai on April 12, 2015, accompanied by Mr. Pitak Suksawat, the husband of Prime Minister Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, and their children, Miss Thitarn and Mr. Prutthasin Suksawat. The family was spotted enjoying a meal at Chang Moi Coffee Shop, followed by a leisurely stroll around Central Festival Chiang Mai. They concluded their day with dinner at Sipolle Italian Food by Chef Dan.
On April 13, 2015, Mr. Thaksin is scheduled to participate in Songkran activities at the Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organization Railway Station Public Park at 9:00 a.m. Later, he will meet Ms. Paethongtarn upon her arrival in Chiang Mai at 11:00 a.m., marking a familial reunion for the holiday celebrations.
The Facebook page Khun Chai Sud Lo Thewada shared a photo and message capturing Mr. Thaksin enjoying lunch at Chang Moi Noodle Shop, highlighting the former prime minister’s relaxed holiday mood amidst the festive atmosphere.
