The Royal Thai Army pays homage to and bids farewell to the military career of a general.


The Royal Thai Army held a ceremony to honor and bid farewell to military service officers, expressing their gratitude to their commanders and continuing the Royal Thai Army’s ideology.

General Jareonchai Hinthao, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, presided over the ceremony to honor and bid farewell to military service for generals of the Royal Thai Army in 2024, which was scheduled to be held in two areas: within the Royal Thai Army Headquarters and Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy in Nakhon Nayok Province.

Both places have a bond with all retired military officers, as they were training and dormitories for cadets in the past, and are now military service locations. There are a total of 123 retired army generals and 5 high-ranking commanders of the army: General Charoenchai Hinthao, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army; General Suksun Nongbualang, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army; General Kittisak Boonpradhamchai, Chairman of the Army Advisory Board; General Sawat Sangpho
n, Chief of the Staff of the Commander-in-Chief; and General Niran Srikacha, Special Advisor to the Royal Thai Army.

In the morning at the Royal Thai Army Headquarter, the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army and the senior commanders of the Royal Thai Army who retired from service joined the ceremony to pay homage to the Phra Chai Mongkhon Bhum Shrine and pay homage to the statue of King Rama V at the Phra Barami Pok Klao Room, Royal Thai Army Museum Building, before leading the group of retired generals to lay wreaths at the Royal Thai Army Memorial Wall and praising the heroism of Thai warriors before traveling to lay wreaths and garlands at the King Rama V Monument in front of the Kittikhajorn Auditorium to express their loyalty and gratitude and to bring good fortune to the retired generals.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army then traveled to Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy to join the ceremony with the retired generals of the Royal Thai Army. The Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Th
ai Army led the group of generals who retired in 2024 to pay homage to the statue of King Rama V at the Round Pavilion before performing the ceremony to honor the generals who retired from service at the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy auditorium. They watched a video showing the history and achievements of all the retired generals, which collected memories and work histories in various fields, where everyone devoted their physical and mental strength to perform missions for the Royal Thai Army, the country and the people throughout their service. Then, they listened to a poem and a speech of praise for the retired generals of the Royal Thai Army from the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy cadets before the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army presented souvenirs, which were cadet short swords, to all the retired generals as a token of appreciation from the Royal Thai Army.

On the same occasion, General Pana Klaewplodtook, the Army Chief of Staff, gave a speech of praise to the retired generals a
nd presented a souvenir to General Charoenchai Hinthao, the Army Commander, before the Army Commander said his farewell speech to his military career, saying, “I would like to thank the Army for organizing such an honorable, valuable and memorable ceremony for

all retired generals. Even though their service has ended, the spirit of being a soldier, as well as their love and attachment to the army, will always remain.” The Army Commander then led the group of retired generals to receive respect from the parade and pay homage to the King Rama V Monument before bidding farewell to the honor guard at the front lawn of the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy.
