Widespread Flooding Disrupts Life in Satun and Narathiwat Provinces.

Satun: Flooding in Satun Province this morning has spread widely, reaching the economic district of Chalung Subdistrict. Villagers are starting to get stressed because this is the second time this year that flooding has been severe. In Narathiwat, the entire province is flooded, affecting 150,000 people.

According to Thai News Agency, the flood situation in Satun Province this morning has expanded due to the continuous rain, causing the water in Khuan Don District to flow down to Khlong Chalung and flood houses in low-lying areas. On the main road from Trang to Satun, at the bridgehead in the municipality of Tambon Chalung, both sides of the road were flooded for a distance of approximately 2 km. Vehicles were having difficulty traveling. The water also flooded the economic area of Tambon Chalung, houses and shops along Khlong Chalung, including the fresh market of Tambon Chalung Municipality. Some villagers were stressed because this was the second time this year that the flooding had been severe.

thiwat Province, heavy rain has caused three main rivers: the Bang Nara, Sai Buri, and Kolok Rivers to overflow their banks and flood agricultural areas and homes of people in all 13 districts. More than 42,000 households, totaling more than 150,000 people, have been affected. 68 schools have closed, with some areas experiencing high flooding. Passenger vans from Su-ngai Kolok District to four southern border provinces have announced a temporary suspension of service starting today because the main roads are flooded in some areas. In three districts of Narathiwat, six roads have been cut off and all types of vehicles are unable to pass.
