105th Anniversary of Ministry of Commerce Celebrated with Awards and Ceremonies


Bangkok: The Ministry of Commerce held an event to celebrate its 105th anniversary at the Ministry of Commerce premises. Mr. Chatuporn Buruspat, the Minister of Commerce, presided over the event alongside Mr. Suchart Chomklin and Mr. Chantawit Tantasith, Deputy Ministers of Commerce, as well as executives, civil servants, and officials from the Ministry.



According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chatuporn highlighted that the 105-year milestone not only marks the journey of the Ministry but also signifies 105 years of contribution to the Thai economy and trade. He emphasized that the Ministry has been instrumental in shaping the Thai economy. Mr. Chatuporn introduced policies like “Reliable Commerce” and “Thais Make, Thais Use, Thais Help Thais,” focusing on managing agricultural product prices, consumer protection, fair trade, and promoting Thai entrepreneurship on a global scale. He assured that the Ministry remains committed to supporting the Thai people and enhancing the nation’s economic stability and quality of life.



The anniversary event featured several ceremonies, including a homage to the Ministry’s sacred objects, a Buddhist chanting session for auspiciousness, and an award presentation. The “Petch Commerce” Awards for 2025 honored 15 individuals in categories of entrepreneurs, experts, and civil servants who made significant contributions to the economy and the Ministry. Additionally, the 2025 Ministry of Commerce Code of Ethics Awards were given to 28 individuals, while 22 received scholarships from the Wissukham Foundation to support their education and morale.
