Hanoi: A 1,362-kilogram war-time bomb has been successfully relocated to a secure location, as confirmed by the Hanoi Capital Military High Command. The bomb, identified as a 210-centimeter-long M-118 model, was discovered on October 21 near the Long Bien bridge by a local resident.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the relocation took place on October 24, following a similar operation conducted earlier this month on October 10, when another bomb of the same type was safely handled. The discovery and subsequent relocation of these bombs highlight the ongoing challenges faced by authorities in managing unexploded ordnance from past conflicts. Their safe handling underscores the importance of vigilance and expertise in ensuring public safety in areas with a history of military engagement.
