16-year-old girl dies mysteriously; police investigate homeowner and girl’s friend

It remains a mystery in the case of a 16-year-old girl who was found dead in bed with a bloody nose, an unhooked bra, and a glass of water with a drink lying nearby, but no signs of assault were found. Police are collecting evidence for examination and are still waiting for the results of a detailed autopsy.

The scene of the incident was a two-story townhouse in a village in Phraeksa Subdistrict, Samut Prakan Province. In the second-floor bedroom, Samut Prakan City Police found the body of Ms. Thannalak or ‘Mamay’, aged 16, lying face up on the bed, wearing a green tank top and a short black skirt. Blood was coming out of her nose. Nearby, a cooler glass with soda still in it was found. When the body was turned over, it was found that the bra hook of the deceased had been undone, but no signs or wounds of assault were found. The initial examination by the doctor estimated that she had been dead for at least two hours.

Mr Suchin, the owner of the house, told the police that he used to be a company employee,
but quit to take care of his 84-year-old mother, whose health was starting to fail. Then, two months ago, he rented this house for his mother and took up selling shoes and clothes online. Later, he met a woman named Praew on Facebook, so he invited her to be his sales admin. However, when Praew was sick, he introduced ‘Mamay’ and a friend named ‘Tal’ to work instead.

Before Mamey was found dead, Mamey and Tan came to see him at home (12.00 noon) to prepare for online sales work. But in the evening (4.00 p.m.), Mamey said she was ‘sleepy’ and asked to go to bed. Later, ‘Tan’ saw that Mamey was having trouble breathing, so she woke Mamey up and tried to massage her body until Mamey looked normal and asked to continue sleeping. As for ‘Tan’, she asked to go out and do some errands. But in the early evening (7.00 p.m.), Mr. Suchin felt that ‘Mamey’ had been sleeping for an unusually long time, so he went to open the blanket and found that Mamey’s body was starting to develop spots. When he saw that things were n
ot going well, he called Tan to come and check on his friend, but he could not contact her, so he quickly called the authorities and confirmed that the shirt that was seen to be open was taken off by the deceased herself. He was not involved and did not harm Mamey in any way.

A neighbor, aged 18, reported that she had seen young women under 20 years old coming and going to the house frequently, without repeating the same person, but she did not know what they were doing. She had also seen officers come to inspect the house. On the day of the incident, she was sitting in front of the house when she saw the deceased and his friends coming into the house.

The police have not focused on any one case yet, but Pol. Col. Noppadol Changruen, Superintendent of Samut Prakan City Police Station, confirmed that the initial examination of the deceased’s body did not find any wounds from assault. As for whether he died of a chronic disease or something else, they will have to wait for the autopsy results first. As for th
e deceased’s sister, she simply said that her younger sister only said she was going out to see a friend. She did not think that her younger sister would die without knowing the cause.
