Bangkok: Scholars are urging Thailand to expedite its negotiations with Cambodia, emphasizing the need for a clear and firm stance. Assoc. Prof. Panithan Wattanayagorn, an expert in security and foreign affairs, has highlighted potential issues in the stance expressed by Cambodian senior leaders on social media, which he described as two-faced politics.
According to Thai News Agency, Assoc. Prof. Panithan suggests that Thailand needs to focus on achieving domestic understanding and consensus regarding MOU 44. Once a unified domestic position is established, he believes that negotiations with Cambodia should proceed swiftly and decisively, ensuring that Thailand’s leaders present a strong and unambiguous position during discussions.
