Bandung, Kominfo – The spirit of the Post, Telegram, and Telkom (AMPTT) Youth Forces, in taking over the Post, Telegraph, and Telephone (PTT) Office from the Japanese government on September 27, 1945, must still be rekindled in the current digital era.
“Today, we commemorate this spirit together through the 77th Postel Service Day with the theme Forward Together with Post and Telematics, Towards a Prosperous Indonesia,” said Head of the Research and Development Agency for Human Resources of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Hary Budiarto, while leading the ceremony. Postel Service Day at PT Pos Indonesia Head Office, Bandung, Tuesday (27/09/2022).
The Head of Human Resources Research and Development Ministry of Communication and Informatics recounted the struggle of the heroes who risked their lives and bodies against the Japanese colonial government. The PTT Office at Jalan Cilaki Number 73 Bandung, West Java, was occupied.
“The courage of AMPT T members is the momentum of the struggle which is the starting point for the development of the postal and telecommunications sector in the country,” he said.
Hary Budiarto hopes that, entering this digital era, the postal and telecommunications sectors will continue to be built and developed together, so that Indonesia will be more resilient and continue to grow. It takes hard work and joint collaboration between the government and all stakeholders in realizing improvements in the quality of infrastructure and technology in the fields of post, telecommunications, and digital-based broadcasting.
“Digital technology must be felt equally by all people in remote areas of Indonesia. Everything is used to create a prosperous Indonesia,” he said.
Also attending the ceremony to commemorate the Postel Service Day, Director of Resource Operations of the Directorate General of SDPPI Dwi Handoko and a number of officials from the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemkominfo). Also present were the leaders of the Veterans Corps of Postel Employees, the Veterans Legion of the Republic of Indonesia, the Indonesian Telematics Society, Associations, and Postel Operators.
The ceremony to commemorate the Postel Service Day was also carried out by all Technical Implementation Units of Radio Frequency Spectrum Monitoring in their respective regions, followed by a series of social service activities and sports.
