CCTV footage from a shop near the scene of the accident shows a black sedan driving from the airport red light intersection towards Phrabat on Sanam Road, Tambon Phrabat, Amphoe Mueang, Lampang Province, crashing into the back of the first car and sliding into other cars parked on the side of the road, damaging a total of 5 cars.
After the incident, villagers on the side of the road were shocked and ran to see the car that caused the accident. They found that the driver, named Uncle Noi, about 60 years old, was driving alone and could not speak clearly. In the car, they found a half-full bottle of liquor. When reporters asked where he had been and where he was going, Uncle Noi gave a short answer with vulgar words before leaning down as if he was going to sleep in the car.
