CCTV footage from last night (24 Aug 2014) at the Yaowarat gold shop inside Lotus Sala Thung Song shopping mall in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province shows a man wearing black clothing covering his face, a hooded jacket, and a backpack slung over his shoulder. He broke into the gold shop alone and used an unknown gun to shoot at the gold storage cabinet, shocking the employees and shoppers near closing time, who had to run away in all directions.
The culprit stole some gold jewelry and ran away. The security guard of the mall tried to follow and film the incident, but the culprit had a gun and the security guard was afraid for his safety, so the culprit escaped. In addition, the culprit also threw a fake bomb to distract the attention.
