Abbot of Wat Krungkrak Disrobes Amidst Controversy

Phitsanulok: The abbot of a renowned temple in Phitsanulok Province has quietly disrobed following his involvement in a widely discussed news story. Phra Khru Wirot Thammakon, the abbot of Wat Krungkrak and a key religious figure in the area, conducted the disrobing ceremony for Phra S., the abbot in question, amidst swirling rumors regarding his past personal life.

According to Thai News Agency, the rumors suggest that Phra S. might have been the first husband of a woman known by the nickname ‘Nong Dokmai’ or Sika K. This speculation intensified with the revelation that Nong Dokmai has a 13-year-old daughter, potentially connecting her to Phra S.’s past relationships.

While the temple has not yet issued an official statement explaining the reasons behind the disrobing, a close source indicated that it was a personal decision by the abbot. The decision was reportedly made to prevent any negative impact on the temple’s reputation and to uphold the integrity of the religious community.
