Shocking in the middle of the city! The footpath near the BTS entrance at Fai Chai intersection collapsed. Fortunately, no one fell and was injured. Officials are rushing to repair it.
A picture of a landslide on the sidewalk in the middle of Bangkok under the Sam Yaek Fai Chai BTS station. The depth is about 2 meters from the eye, but it is not known how deep the hole is inside. However, the width is easy to measure that a person could fall and disappear inside. This incident occurred on August 25.
Officials from the Bang Khun Non District Office rushed to the scene along with all agencies, including the Department of Public Works, the District Office, the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority, and the MRTA. Initially, the area was cordoned off to allow officials to join in the inspection. While the District Office has not yet reported any injuries or deaths, officials recently put up canvas to block off the scene to prevent people from recording images.
The team of technicians brought gravel to cover the ho
le where the incident occurred. From observation, it was found that the point where the incident occurred was next to an old drainage canal, so a drainage channel was dug lower than the tunnel under Fai Chai Intersection. The point where the incident occurred was at the foot of the train entrance. The drainage channel under the tunnel under Fai Chai Intersection is not yet complete and is the responsibility of Bangkok. As for the area that collapsed, it is the responsibility of the MRTA. It is currently being repaired.
