Ahafo: Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) James Annor, Ahafo Regional Police Commander, has assured residents of tightened security across the region ahead of the festive season. Speaking to the media, he said the Regional Police Command and its counterparts had intensified patrols throughout the region to ensure the safety of lives and property before, during, and after the yuletide.
According to Ghana News Agency, DCOP Annor explained that during festive periods, some criminals take advantage of the celebrations to engage in criminal activities, including theft, robbery, and other forms of violence. He noted that the police were aware of these tactics and were taking proactive measures to prevent and respond to any potential security threats.
The police commander emphasised that security agencies were fully prepared and committed to protecting residents throughout the festive season. He urged citizens to be vigilant and promptly report any suspicious persons or criminal activities to the police without hesitation.
'We want to assure the public that we are doing our best to ensure their safety, and we need their cooperation to achieve this goal,' DCOP Annor said. He advised residents to take the necessary precautions to secure their homes and businesses, especially during peak celebration hours, adding that the police would conduct regular patrols and checks to deter criminal activity and respond quickly in case of emergencies.
DCOP Annor announced that the Ahafo Regional Police Command had set up a hotline for residents to report any security concerns or incidents and encouraged the public to use this service to help the police maintain peace and security in the region.
