Gyeongju: Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and his delegation have arrived in Gyeongju, Republic of Korea, to participate in the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting and related events.
According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister, alongside Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, his wife Thananon Niramis, and key officials including Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkaew, Minister of Commerce Suphajee Suthumpun, and Secretary-General to the Prime Minister Traisulee Traisaranakul, landed at Gimhae Air Base in Busan. They received a warm welcome from Mr. Choe Hyoung-chan, Director of the National Diplomatic Academy of Korea, and the South Korean delegation. This marks Prime Minister Charnvirakul’s inaugural attendance at an international economic forum.
The Prime Minister and his team are set to proceed to Gyeongju, the location of the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting. At 6:30 p.m., Charnvirakul will attend a special dinner in honor of US President Donald Trump and APEC Economic Leaders, hosted by South Korean President Lee Chae-myung. This event provides an opportunity for informal discussions with leaders from various economic zones on matters such as trade, investment, innovation, and sustainable development.
Following the dinner, Charnvirakul is scheduled to receive a briefing on the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting and related meetings at his hotel, preparing for the following day’s engagements. The meeting agenda for October 31, 2025, under the theme “Towards a More Connected, Resilient Region and Beyond,” will focus on enhancing trade, investment, and public-private partnerships, with Thailand aiming to act as a connecting bridge for inclusive growth.
On November 1, 2025, the second session of the meeting, themed “Preparing a Future-Ready Asia-Pacific,” will emphasize cooperation in digital transformation and AI, with the goal of fostering inclusive and sustainable growth. The Prime Minister will also participate in the 2025 APEC CEO Summit, delivering a speech titled “Bridge. Business. Beyond,” addressing regional connectivity and sustainable development.
Additional events include the ABAC Dialogue with APEC Economic Leaders, aimed at strengthening public-private partnerships, and meetings with the US-APEC Coalition and other economic leaders. The Prime Minister will also attend the APEC Economic Leaders’ Gala Dinner to bolster relations and promote Thailand’s image on the global economic stage.
Thailand’s role in the APEC meeting highlights its commitment to international cooperation in trade, investment, and sustainable development for balanced growth in the Indo-Pacific region.
