Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, remains unaware of Paethongtarn Shinawatra’s resignation as leader of the Pheu Thai Party, as he was engaged in a meeting that began early in the morning. When questioned about measures to combat scammer gangs, Anutin deferred, suggesting inquiries be directed to the National Police Chief.
According to Thai News Agency, after the 9/2025 National Police Commission meeting, which lasted over an hour, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul exited the Sriyanont Conference Room. He was seen conversing with National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Kittirat Phanpetch and Deputy National Police Chief Pol. Lt. Gen. Thatchai Pitaneelabutr for several minutes in the lobby of Building 1 before leaving the premises.
Reporters attempted to gather insights from Anutin regarding the outcome of the meeting and any measures discussed to tackle the issue of scammer gangs. However, Anutin advised them to seek information from the National Police Chief. When further questioned about the rumored resignation of former Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra from the Pheu Thai Party leadership, Anutin responded with a brief “Not yet,” citing his absence from any updates due to the ongoing meeting since morning.
