Army Commander orders increased monitoring of flood situation


The Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army ordered an increase in monitoring of the flood situation, along with using the coordination center mechanism of the Royal Thai Army Volunteer Project, integrating with volunteers from all sectors to urgently help the people.

Reporters reported that from the flood situation in many areas of Thailand, especially in the northern and northeastern regions that have affected a wide range of people, including the beginning of reports of flooding in the central region.

General Pana Klaewplodtook, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, has ordered an increase in monitoring of the flood situation through the mechanisms of the Royal Thai Army Disaster Relief Center and the Royal Thai Army Volunteer Project Coordination Center to prepare for the flood situation that has begun to expand widely.

By assigning Lt. Gen. Chaiyaphruek Duangpraphat, Director-General of the Army Operations Department (Director-General of the Army Operations Department) to chair the meeting of
the Army Disaster Mitigation Monitoring Center together with the Army’s subordinate units via online system at 10.00 a.m.

The meeting reported the latest disaster situation in the northern region, followed up on the progress of the operation to help the people as assigned by the Forward Command Center, and ordered military units nationwide to prepare personnel and equipment to support military units in flood-affected areas when requested, including integrating assistance from volunteer personnel through the Royal Volunteer Command Center at all levels, both regional and provincial, to support the operations of local government agencies to ensure that assistance to the people is effective and of maximum benefit.
