Bangkok: BAAC announced the success of the grand running event of the year, BAAC Charity Run 3rd 2024, with more than 4,000 Thai and foreign runners participating in the competition, competing for a total prize value of more than 1 million baht.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chatchai Sirilai, Manager of BAAC, revealed that BAAC organized the ‘BAAC Charity Run 3rd 2024’ on the occasion of the 59th anniversary of BAAC’s establishment on November 1, 2024, to encourage Thais to exercise and promote good health. This event received great interest and was a great success with more than 4,000 health-conscious and runners, both Thai and foreign, of all ages and genders, joining the event. It was divided into a 5-kilometer Fun Run and a 10.5-kilometer Mini Marathon to compete for a total prize of 1 million baht. The race was started and the finish line was at BAAC Head Office, Bang Khen. The contestants were encouraged by BAAC staff who came to create a lively and fun atmosphere at 8 cheering stands along the r
unning route on Phahon Yothin Road – Prasert Manukit Road, which greatly impressed the participants.
In addition, the event also launched Khao Aun Im, a ready-to-eat rice product made from Thung Kula Rong Hai jasmine rice from the Agricultural Cooperative for Customer Marketing, BAAC (SKT), Roi Et, which set up a booth for attendees to taste the rice in a ready-to-eat format. Simply heat it in the microwave for about 30 seconds and you will be able to eat rice that is full of quality and complete nutrition. In addition, the product can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 years without having to refrigerate it. It is ready to be distributed nationwide soon.
For the Mini Marathon 10.5 km, the overall 1st place winners for both male and female categories received cash prizes worth 100,000 baht and Champion robes. The male winners were Mr. Gezu Anbese from Ethiopia with a time of 30.52 minutes, and the female winners were Ms. Catherine Syokau Mwanzau from Kenya with a time of 34.04 minutes. For BAAC emplo
yees who competed in the Mini Marathon, there is also an Overall award worth 30,000 baht for BAAC employees. The best times for the male runners were Mr. Kittibodee Theptong with a time of 38.12 minutes, and Ms. Thitima Withet with a time of 47.45 minutes. There was also an awards ceremony for runners in the 10.5 km distance, both for the general public and BAAC employees, in each age group.
There are also 10 fancy running awards under the theme ‘Tree Bank to BAAC Carbon Credit’ worth 5,000 baht each, with over 45 people interested in joining the competition to present their creative ideas for dressing in the theme.
