Bangkok: BAAC warns against scammers claiming to be debt consolidation loans on TikTok, using deceptive words to trick people into believing them, such as quick approval, no credit checks, and no guarantor required. BAAC confirms that it is not involved. Mr. Paisal Hongthong, Deputy Managing Director and Spokesperson of the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), revealed that there is a group of ill-intentioned people who have falsely claimed the name and logo of the bank, including using the image of the BAAC manager, to present false information in the manner that BAAC has created a debt consolidation loan project for people to borrow to pay off debts without the need for a guarantor or collateral, no credit bureau check, easy approval, low interest, and for interested persons to contact to apply for a loan via the Line application or other online channels.
According to Thai News Agency, BAAC would like to inform that the account that has published information in such a manner is not th
e BAAC account. The bank is not involved in such actions and has no policy to provide loans or approve loans via social media. Therefore, farmers, customers, and the general public are asked not to believe it at all because they may be tricked by fraudsters into transferring money or requesting personal information, which may cause damage. The bank will collect information and take legal action against those who falsely claim to be in such a manner.
