Bhumjaithai Party’s Right to Debate Trump’s Tax Under Section 152 Affirmed by Chusak

Bangkok: “Chusak” points out that it is the right of Bhumjaithai Party to submit a general debate on Section 152 of Trump’s tax. Chusak Sirinil, Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, addressed the Bhumjaithai Party’s preparation to request a general debate without a vote under Article 152 of the Constitution concerning Trump’s taxes. He emphasized that if the party requests to initiate the debate, the government must consider its readiness to proceed. It is within Bhumjaithai’s rights to call for such a debate, and once requested, the government is obliged to facilitate it. However, the exact timing of the debate remains to be determined based on the readiness of both parties involved.

According to Thai News Agency, when questioned about the possibility of conducting the debate before the August 1 deadline for the US tariff hike, Mr. Chusak expressed that the timing of the debate is not bound by this date. He noted that the debate’s scheduling would rely on both parties’ preparedness and the government’s ability to provide answers. Historically, the process has followed this approach, with discussions scheduled once all parties are ready to engage.
