“Bhumjaithai” voted not to amend the constitution section by section on ethics issues.

“Bhumjaithai” voted not to amend the constitution article by article on ethics issues, but supported amending the entire constitution through the Constituent Assembly, believing that society will accept it. “Chaiyachanok” sees ethics as a necessary quality for politicians and parties.

Mr. Krawee Prisananantakul, MP for Ang Thong, Bhumjaithai Party, as a party executive, announced the results of the weekly MP meeting that the meeting agreed with the amendment of the constitution, which must proceed to a referendum. At present, the referendum law has passed the MP level and is under consideration by the Senate. It is expected that it will be enforced soon.

Along with stating that he believes that the constitution is an important matter that must be accepted by people in society and believes that amending the two constitutions through members of the Constitution Drafting Assembly or the Constituent Assembly will be a method that will make society accept the rules of living together of people in society.

‘We
think that if we are going to amend the constitution, we should amend the whole constitution. Ideally, the amendment of the constitution should be done by a neutral party from all sectors, in the form of the Constituent Assembly that has been done before,’ said Mr. Krawee, who confirmed that if the constitution is amended, it should proceed to amending Section 256 and drafting a new constitution in its entirety, except for amendments to Chapters 1 and 2, which should not be touched.

While Mr. Chaichanok Chidchob, MP for Buriram and secretary-general of the Bhumjaithai Party, stated that he had not been contacted by the Pheu Thai Party to discuss amending the constitution on the issue of ethical standards. ‘On the issue of ethical standards, we see them as necessary and basic qualities for politicians and political parties,’ said the secretary-general of the Bhumjaithai Party.
